“When I get big …”

Austen loves this phrase and uses it daily to talk about things she’s not allowed to do now but will be able to do in the future. This helps her cope with things Mommy and Daddy tell her she can’t do: like walk through a parking lot without holding hands or drink the fizzy drinks Mommy drinks.

The cutest part is the way she says it with such sweet emphasis and articulate enthusiasm, like she finds the prospect thoroughly exciting.

Lately, Austen has mentioned being a teacher when she grows up. She loves her teachers at preschool and she loves to watch Olivia’s teacher on the TV program.
