Mama gives Gage a bath in the sink. This won’t last much longer – he’s almost too big to comfortably fit. Time to get the baby bathtub out of storage.
With all the attention around Gage, Austen decides Baby Mickey needs her to take care of him. Austen cuddles, strolls and carries Baby Mickey to bed.

At around 14 pounds, the doctor says he’s not overweight, but proportionate to his tall height.
There’s much more interaction with Gage now. Mommy notices that he loves when she smiles at him and talks to him in a high-pitched voice. Gage coos and cuddles adoringly and loves when Daddy, Grandpa and Grandma Mindy talk to him. Steely grip and strong arms and legs, he doesn’t seem like a delicate newborn anymore.Mommy is in shock again.
Austen loves this phrase and uses it daily to talk about things she’s not allowed to do now but will be able to do in the future. This helps her cope with things Mommy and Daddy tell her she can’t do: like walk through a parking lot without holding hands or drink the fizzy drinks Mommy drinks.
The cutest part is the way she says it with such sweet emphasis and articulate enthusiasm, like she finds the prospect thoroughly exciting. Lately, Austen has mentioned being a teacher when she grows up. She loves her teachers at preschool and she loves to watch Olivia’s teacher on the TV program.
